Introduction

SINOPEC Mercaptan Removal Technology for jet fuel at low hydrogen pressure (RHSS) is designed for processing various kinds of straight run jet fuel feeds, including the feeds from high-sulfur crude, at mild operating conditions and with low hydrogen consumption. RHSS process can remove mercaptans, acid and improve odor and color, while keeping desirable properties of the feedstocks. The product obtained meets jet fuel specifications and the process is environmentally friendly.

Technical Characteristics

1. Special catalysts are applied under mild operating conditions of low pressure, low reaction temperature and H2/oil ratio, high LHSV with low hydrogen consumption.
2. The process can be applied for straight-run jet fuel feeds with different sulfur levels.
3. The on-spec product keeps the merits of the straight run distillate feedstocks. This advanced, mature and reliable process can reduce mercaptan-sulfur level to as low as 10 μg/g with the improvement of color/odor and the decrease of acid value, while keeping the merits of the kerosene feedstock.
4. The first cycle length of the main catalyst is 3-5 years and total service life is more than 9 years with regenerations in between.
