Introduction

Caprolactam, as an important organic chemical raw material and the monomer of nylon-6 fibers and engineering plastics, has been widely used in textile, automobile, electronics and other fields. Cyclohexanone oxime is the key intermediate for the production of caprolactam. More than 90% of caprolactam worldwide is manufactured by rearrangement of cyclohexanone oxime.
The technology for producing cyclohexanone oxime by continuous ammoximation of cyclohexanone in single-reactor (CACS), developed by SINOPEC, is an innovative process, a core of the integrated new technology for the green production of caprolactam, and a brand new environmental friendly technology. This technology uses a unique HTS titanosilicate molecular sieve as catalyst and microfiltration membrane as separator for recycling the catalyst, so the whole process is much simpler and greener than the conventional one. Cyclohexanone oxime can be produced by a one-step reaction with high selectivity and high conversion in which cyclohexanone reacts with NH3 and H2O2 using HTS as catalyst. The by-product is water only.

Technical Characteristics

1. An innovative process combines the slurry bed reactor and the membrane separators. The catalyst in the size of submicron is separated and recycled continuously, leading to stable operation of the whole process.
2. By using a unique technology to prevent the catalyst from deactivation, the lifetime of the catalyst is prolonged greatly.
3. The consumption of the catalyst is reduced significantly because of the unique catalyst regeneration technology.
4. CACS process has mild reaction conditions, less discharge of wastes and no NOx/SOx emission. It is a green and clean process without the problems of equipment corrosion and environment pollution in comparison with traditional technologies.
