Introduction
Butadiene is the main content of the C4 cut. Butadiene has various utilizations in the field of synthetic rubber and synthesis of other materials. Butadiene is used primarily as a monomer in the production of a wide range of polymers and copolymers including Butadiene Rubber (BR), Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR), Acrylonitrile-Butadien Rubber, styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) elastomer, Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Styrene (ABS) Resins, etc. In addition, butadiene also is used in the production of a number of intermediate chemicals such as Adiponitrile, Hexamethylene diamine, Nylon-66, 1,4-Butylene glycol, etc as well as adhesive, gasoline additive. In summary, butadiene is an important industrial chemical.
SINOPEC has developed the iron series catalyst since 1960s. And the first Butene Oxidative Dehydrogenation Technology (ODB) industrial plant with capacity of 10,000MTA was successfully built at YanShan in 1971. From then on, improvement has been made continuously, the one-line capacity increased to 100, 000MTA, and the new generation catalyst ODE-1000 was developed. Recently, many sets of ODB plants are in the process of engineering design.
Technical Characteristics
1. ODE-1000 catalyst has high conversion and selectivity, good stability and longevity.
2. Butene Extraction Unit is flexible to process various feedstock compositions.
3. Two -stage oil adsorption strategy can minimize loss of absorption oil and C4.
4. Since Extraction Unit is operated at high pressure, butadiene gas compressor is not required, resulting in low electricity and investment cost.
5. Pinch analysis is applied to optimize the heat recovery, the solvent heat recovery efficiency approaches 100%.
