Introduction

SINOPEC CPP is a novel technology aiming at producing ethylene and propylene directly from heavy oil, offering a new strategy to obtaining petrochemical products from heavy feedstocks. The cracked naphtha from CPP process can be used as blending component of high octane number gasoline, or as feedstock for BTX production. 

Technical Characteristics

1. Operation flexibility
CPP technology has three operating modes: Maximizing ethylene production (Mode I), Maximizing ethylene and propylene production (Mode II), and Maximizing propylene production (Mode III).
2. Feed adaptability
CPP technology is suitable for processing heavy feedstocks, including VGO, VGO mixed with residual oil, CGO and DAO, etc.; this help to expand feedstock sources for ethylene production and reduce feedstock cost.
3. Running cycle
The running cycle of a CPP unit is the same as that of conventional FCC units, normally 3 to 5 years.
